The Mt. Lemmon Fire District covers 12.5 square miles of Wildland/Urban Interface in the Santa Catalinas of the Coronado National Forest.

FireWise Program

bulletThe FireWise Committee on Mt. Lemmon was formed in May 2001.  The Committee was developed to assist in the education and organization of the Community in becoming FireWise.  The Community of Mt. Lemmon achieved National recognition as a FireWise Community effective January 2005  www.firewise.org/usa
bulletThe Fire District and local Homeowner's Associations have received numerous grants for continued fuels treatment projects and education on living within the Wildland/Urban Interface www.treesformtlemmon.org
