 YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ONE WEEKEND 

Your Cabin

Does your chimney have a Spark Arrester?                                                                         

Have you made sure that no portion of any tree is within 10 feet of the flue opening of any stove or chimney?                                                                                 

Are your roof surfaces and gutters clear of pine needles and flammable debris?   

Are your undereaves and attic vents fully enclosed protected with wire mesh?               

Are tree branches removed to a height of 15 feet within 30 feet of your deck and cabin?           

Are your pine needles removed to a distance of 30 feet from your cabin? 

Are all power lines free and clear of any tree limbs?   

Are all combustibles such as firewood, picnic tables, etc. stored 30 feet away from your structure?                                                           

 Is your LPG tank clear of flammable materials and vegetation?                                            

 Your Family

Is your road name and house number clearly visible from the road?

Is there a smoke detector installed at each sleeping area in your cabin?                         

Do you check and/or replace the batteries in your smoke detectors 2 times per year?      

Do you have a fire extinguisher in your home and know how to use it?                        

Do you have 2 safety exits from your cabin?

Do you have an escape route and meeting place for your family?
